The first Gala Concert of the “Opera & Podium” project took place on the stage of the Concert Hall at the University of Industrial Technologies and Design. The musical evening opened with Tchaikovsky’s Polonaise, performed by the symphony orchestra of the Saint Petersburg Conservatory under the direction of the project’s Musical Director and Conductor Sergey Fedoseev. The program featured excerpts from five Russian operas, each presented as a miniature theatrical performance—a living picture filled with classical music and contemporary interpretation. Well-known arias from Eugene Onegin, The Queen of Spades, The Snow Maiden, Sadko, and The Tsar’s Bride were performed by students of the Saint Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory. Costumes and multimedia stage designs were created by students of the Saint Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design. The audience enthusiastically received the young performers and, after the concert, admired the opera costumes up close and took photos with the artists.
